\n\nWithin the framework of the Arnsberg Summer of Culture
\nOrganised by the Cultural Office of the City of Arnsberg and Kunstverein Arnsberg

\n\n\nToday people are living longer and longer. Taken that 60 is the new 40, what is life like after you retire? What are our expectations and hopes for the final quarter of our life? How do we fill and structure our days? And what is the status of senior women in today's society?\nThe artist and choreographer Anna Anderegg<\/strong> explored these questions and developed the project SILVER BOOM, a performance with senior women in public space. The piece questions the relationship between urban space, gender and age.

\n\nSILVER BOOM<\/strong> is a performance and video exhibition that creates a poetic rupture in daily life and questions the visibility of experienced women in public space. A woman's body is meticulously examined for signs of ageing. Yet the presence and representation of experienced women remains hidden in the public sphere. When and why does a woman's body become invisible? How can we as a society give more space to the experiences and knowledge embodied by these inhabitants?

\n\nWith SILVER BOOM, artist Anna Anderegg is committed to creating a collective consciousness and celebrating experienced women in urban landscapes. The participatory performance is being rehearsed in Arnsberg with a group of female citizens over 60.

\n\nParts of the process and video footage of Silver Boom from other cities (Detmold, Biel, Chalon-sur-Saone, Zurich, Friedrichstadt, Moss etc.) will be presented in an installation at the Kunstverein. Video works created together with video artist Nina Gazaniol<\/strong> will be shown, featuring portraits of women participating in the project. It is a documentary and anthropological insight into the personal lives and thoughts of experienced women.

\n\nANNA ANDEREGG<\/strong> is a Swiss choreographer. She studied dance in Bern, Montpellier and Berlin. Her practice is built on the dialogue between the human body and its environment. Her work has been shown in various cities in Europe, Asia and the US. In 2013 she won\nthe June Johnson Danceprice and the award Kultur- und Kreativpiloten Deutschland from\nthe Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. In 2021 her piece Silver Boom received\nthe Trudy Schlatter award and her work Alone Together was nominated for the S+T+ARTS\nPrize of the prestigious media art festival Ars Electronica. In 2021 Anderegg was commissioned to design the Swiss Pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale. In 2023 she will present her upcoming solo HopeMe during the FRIEZE artfair at the Song-Eun Museum, Seoul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
