With \u2018Ants & Elephants\u2019, the Kunstverein Arnsberg is celebrating the end of its 30th anniversary year. Numerous artistic positions show a variety of works that deal with the overall theme of artistic freedom. Nothing is more essential for artistic production than precisely this freedom. This has always been fundamental to the Kunstverein's programme. Freedom, diversity and art belong together and hold together: if you try to limit one of them, the others come to your aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ants and elephants are also not against each other, but with and for each other. If you try to kick ants, the elephants come like big brothers. Because they have a lot in common: they can walk through a wall, for example, they simply get through. They are independent and self-determined and do what they want. With their freedom, they are the artists among the animals. Ants and elephants have a legendary strength and intelligence that could make many people envious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freedom, independence and diversity have so much to do with nature and cannot be confined. Like the spirit of freedom of animals is the spirit of freedom of artists. Sensitivity, instincts and intuition are just some of the characteristics that drive artists and animals together. And so this exhibition, based on the search for artistic freedom, has inevitably found its way back to nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition does not seek to assign the works to a specific theme or subordinate them to a theme, but rather develops directly from the works. Their variety of themes, forms and ideas nevertheless have an animalistic character that characterises the exhibition and gives it its title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Ants & Elephants\u2019 is also our annual editions exhibition. Members of the Kunstverein Arnsberg can purchase the works as annual editions and thereby not only give themselves pleasure, but also support the work of the artists and the Kunstverein.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
