An imaginary area extends over the given pentamerous architecture.
The relationship between image and text as well as between space and movement appears in this site-specific work of Swantje Hielscher, a young conceptual artist. With fountain pen ink she paints one ceiling and four separate walls, each pointing a different direction. Material and flow reveal traces of the past beneath satellite images of future landscapes on each wall. Prevented from conceiving the voluminous work at one glance the visitor is invited to explore it through a physical and mental motion.

Swantje Hielscher was born in 1980 in Braunschweig and lives in Berlin. Previous exhibitions took place at Kunsthalle Basel (2008), Zendai Museum of Modern Art Shanghai (2006), Kunstverein Hannover (2005) and Musée d'art moderne et contemporain Genève (2004).
